Thursday night was somewhat interesting because of the dog. She was put outside for the last time shortly after the CUBS game ended (12:30 am). As she was walking around the yard, it appeared as though she had something in her mouth. The dog will eat almost anything, so we have to constantly keep an eye on if she is eating piece of garbage like plastic or rubber. When she opened her mouth, we found one of her canine teeth had been almost completely broken off sideways in her mouth. It was quite digusting and she was bleeding. Thankfully Jimmy was able to pin her down on the kitchen floor and rip it all the way out, but she still needed to go to the vet on Friday. After seeing the condition of her gums and the part of the tooth that still remained, they decided to take her next Monday morning and put her to sleep. However, this is not a permanent sleep, just one that is long enough for them to remove the rest of the tooth so that it does not get infected. $200 later, we get our redneck, hillbilly dog back.
Jimmy picked Macie up yesterday afternoon and she is doing very well. I think Macie has to be one of the happiest dogs cause it just didn't faze her and the vet didn't even give her any pain medication as a result.
